Ash Rains (Ashley Welch) grew up in Washington State where her mother Julie Michelle raised her and her three brothers Joshua, Mason, and Mackenzie. Being raised by a single mother wasn’t the most stable of situations, but Ash always knew she would do big things in her life despite family circumstances. Although her father was rarely in her life due to drug and alcohol abuse, she always held love in her heart for him. Ash grew up singing and dancing, but not in a traditional sense. Money was always an obstacle when perusing her creative passions, and would challenge her pursuits up into her adult life. By age 17 Ash was living on her own, supporting herself while she finished high school. Without much support or protection, ashley’s innocence was taken her junior year in high school when she was sexual assaulted for the second time in her life. This incident is something she has worked hard on healing within herself, while also supporting other rape victims in their own healing process. After graduation she moved from Olympia, Washington to Los Angeles where she had planned to dance and sing. It was there that her life would change forever as she fell for the wrong man, leading her to become pregnant at 19 years old. Her choice to keep Eli, now 11 would send her on the adventure of her life. From being homeless and pregnant, she pushed forward creating a life of stability and love for her family. She started her first venture backed company at 25 which would lead her to meeting her now husband Ryan Sheffer. Ryan took Eli on as his own son, and shortly after they welcomed a new baby boy William, age 5. As a wife, a mother to two, and an artist, Ash Rains now lives in Austin, Texas. She creates her art with the intention of setting the ultimate example for her family and others - that no matter where you come from, or the pains that have held you back, there is always a choice to create and turn traumas into art that heals.
